The only reason, despite their rationalizations, that our representatives resist passing health care reform is because the general population has been wrongly influenced by the distorted information of the insurance and medical community to believe that their benefits will be negatively impacted by health care reform.
The reality is that we have the worst health care system of the developed countries, and we pay more for it than any other nation with universal health care. As a result, we can’t effectively compete with the rest of the developed countries and have the worst health care statistics.
Our representatives, Roy Blunt included, know this but they have their own self-serving need to keep their job. They haven’t taken the appropriate moral position of educating their constituency and voting for the reform. If they don’t pass a comprehensive health care reform, we should just vote them out.
