We at Maryville High School wanted to let the folks in Southwest Missouri know that the Lamar community and school district put on a heck of a show for our visiting football team and fans this past weekend.
The hospitality that our players and fans received was nothing short of spectacular. The support for your hometown team that was displayed all over the community demonstrated what high school athletics should be all about.
A great big thanks to the Friedens and Gina Little at the Super 8 and the many folks at the Blue Top Diner, who by the way should be ranked in the Top 5 best places to eat in the country for food and service. We give a big thumbs-up.
At Maryville High School we strive to “create a culture” with our students and within our community to be the best we can be, and do it with class on and off the playing field.
As with any successful program, whether it be football or the school play production, this culture takes time and persistence to create and maintain. The administration, coaching staff, students and the community members of Lamar demonstrated the class and enthusiasm that make high school athletics fun.
Once again, a big thank-you and job well done to Lamar from the Maryville Spoofhound community. Best of luck in the future.
