Voices: Giving a ‘hoorah’

Hoorah for the Globe’s editorial, “Investigating Fort Hood Shootings” (Globe, Nov. 12).

Shamefully, other media outlets are afraid to call a terrorist a “terrorist,” unless, of course, it is a non-Muslim who blows up men, women and children in Oklahoma City.

And from one old Navy Korean War vet whose ship was fired at, hoorah to the Cold War vet, Anson Burlingame, for his column, “Soldiers ‘fight’ under many conditions,” in the same issue. And Anson, thank you for your service!

Those submariners are still out there, deep in the seas all over the world, deterring our enemies. You never see them or know where they are, but thank God, they’re there.
