JOPLIN, Mo. —
I just switched off another Todd Akin political blurb.
Every time I see his face on the TV, I just want to reach over and slap the s--- out of it.
There seems to be pitiful little activity going on inside that brain of his. I am not saying this to be mean. I am merely making an observation based upon a few of his choice comments.
Take, for example, Akin’s concept of “legitimate rape.” Good lord! How could a decent man possibly believe in something so offensive? Well, a decent man couldn’t. An ignorant man certainly could, but not a decent one.
How about this one? If a woman is legitimately raped, then her natural biology will prevent her from getting pregnant. Good Lord. How could an intelligent man possibly believe in something so ignorant? Well, an intelligent man couldn’t. A decent man certainly could, but not an intelligent one.
Elections are not just about putting a man into office. Where the man goes, so go his ideas and his values and his notions. So, a vote for Todd Akin is an endorsement of his ideas and his values and his ignorant and offensive notions.
