Your View: Recall needed

JOPLIN, Mo. — Councilmen Bill Scearce and Benjamin Rosenberg need to be recalled. If Scearce gets in as mayor, we will be in a world of hurt.

As Cynthia Schwab said (Globe, Aug. 13), we will speedily return to the 1950s, which isn’t a happy thought.

Let’s not let what City Manager Mark Rohr accomplished be all for naught. I feel we should make an official recall. In the long run, it would be beneficial for Joplin.

I also feel that we should vote for the office of mayor, instead of that position being appointed by the council.
