Your View: You are my heroes

JOPLIN, Mo. — None of you know me, and I don’t know most of you.

When Caesar the Joplin Police Department K-9 dog died in the line of duty and was memorialized, the Joplin police chief made a request.

He asked that when you see an officer or fireman, to wave at them.

It’s not important that they see you. It’s important that you wave.

I’ve not forgotten that. You who put on the uniform, you who don the fire hat, you who are nurses, you are all my hereoes.

You will never be paid too much. May God richly bless each of you. You have my appreciation.
