At my request in 2009, Missouri Speaker of the House Ron Richard sent me awesome information on “Commission to assess the Threat from High Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP): Overview.”
Fox News had interviews on this subject March 3, 2009, to the extent of asking why National Homeland Security and Congress had not addressed this as it directly relates to the security of our nation.
Thirteen of the 16 pages can easily be understood by the average person. I have provided two of our local officials, The Joplin Globe editor, plus Jasper County officials with this information. Out of all of these, only one law enforcement friend of mine knew about it.
It is my hope that somewhere in these entities someone gets the attention of officials between here and Washington, D.C., for action concerning our national security.
What’s this all about? As Iran obtains nuclear capability, it can place a nuclear warhead on a missile aimed at the U.S. As it gets over the Midwest at 200 miles altitude and is detonated, the EMP particles reaching our atmosphere will literally fry “all” electricity and electronics, crippling our nation. It will cripple our military, Pentagon, all electrical power grids, cell phone towers, phones, etc.
I asked one official why the public was not being given this information and the answer was “we don’t want the people to panic.” You don’t have to be a public official to have common sense, especially if it’s done in a “timely, sensible manner.”
This information is not fiction. It is well-documented. Officials, you need to act.
