Your View: Take a pay cut

JOPLIN, Mo. — Empire District is asking for yet another rate increase. This time to repair equipment damage in the May 22, 2011, tornado.

I’m sure that MGE, cable satellite TV and the water company also incurred losses.

But, apparently these companies have an operating budget that Empire lacks. What if everyone at Empire making $500,000 a year or more took a pay cut for a year or two instead of raking their customers over the coals every time they need extra funding.
