JOPLIN, Mo. —
Randee Kaiser, Republican candidate for Jasper County sheriff, got the backing of at least two voters casting ballots at the Donald E. Clark Justice Center in Joplin, based on exit polling Tuesday.
Ron Robson of Joplin said he voted for Kaiser “based on his past experience and working his way up” through the ranks at the Carthage Police Department, where he now is assistant chief.
“And he seems to have the right temperament for the job,” said Robson, who is retired.
Ruby Aust, Joplin, said she also voted for Kaiser. Aust admitted she thought the race had ended with the Republican primary when Kaiser defeated incumbent Sheriff Archie Dunn.
Tuesday’s race was between Kaiser and Libertarian candidate John Karriman.
