Poll shows half undecided in Missouri auditor primary

ST. LOUIS — A poll shows that about half of likely GOP voters are undecided about whom to support in Missouri’s Republican primary for state auditor.

State House member Allen Icet (EYE’-sit) and former State Department official Tom Schweich (shwyk) are running in next week’s GOP primary. The winner will take on incumbent Democratic Auditor Susan Montee.

A poll done for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and KMOV-TV found that 49 percent of respondents were undecided. Icet was preferred by 28 percent and Schweich was favored by 23 percent.

The poll, which sampled 300 likely GOP primary voters, had a margin of error of plus or minus 6 percentage points. It was conducted July 19-21 by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research.
