The MSSU Theatre Department will present an absurdist drama about a king who deals with his oncoming death.
Eugene Ionesco’s “Exit the King” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. from Jan. 26 to Jan. 30 in the Bud Walton Theatre at Missouri Southern State University.
Directed by Sam Claussen, the play tells the story of King Berenger, a 400-year-old king who could control nature and others during his younger days. His pending death at the end of the play is announced at the play’s beginning.
The absurdist drama explores death in both humorous and poignant styles. The cast features Todd Manley, Dustin Lee Sisney, Abby Quinn, Alycia Allen, Zack Self and Kelsey Amann.
