New venue opens with Halloween party

JOPLIN, Mo. — A Joplin-based record company is finally getting a chance to open the doors to its own concert venue.

Loveway Records, the company started by Christofer Drew of Never Shout Never, will host an opening night Halloween party Wednesday. The party will be held at Ganesha Theatre, located at 2331 E. Seventh St.

The concert will feature Me Like Bees, Third Party, Fled the Southwest, Remnants, Isaac Duncan, Pamu, Frindli Quinnli and NPR.

The company is behind the LoveDaze events, a series of concerts featuring a variety of music, from folk rock to techno.

The last LoveDaze was held as an outdoor festival in August at Riverside by Hollyhaven and featured many of the same bands.

The club's new venue is in the building formerly known as The Vibe, an underage/teen club.

The show will be held from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Wednesday at Ganesha Theatre, 2331 E. Seventh Street. The event includes a costume contest. Ages 18 and older will be allowed. Admission: $10.

Details: 417-621-0461.
