CARTHAGE, Mo. —
Nearly 20 artists and six musicians or musical groups will be featured today with the start of the third season of the Historic Downtown Art Walk.
Koral Martin, of Cartage, will be the featured artist, with her work on display at UMB Bank on the courthouse square.
Art Walk Òis beginning to develop a following," said Wendi Douglas, executive director of the Carthage Convention and Visitors Bureau.
ÒWe have a variety of artists and media as well as music. It should be a great night," she said.
Events will start at 6 p.m. with works by 18 artists on display at seven galleries or other sites including Carthage City Hall and Jasper County Courthouse.
Art created by Dale Auguston and Daria Clairborne will be featured at City Hall; Karen Brust, Kristen Hawkins and Josh Mouton, at Koka Gallery; Sue Colgin and Janice Kinman, at Smith-Midwest; April Davis Brunner and Lowell Davis, at Cherry's; Sherry Petty, Jeannette Westbay and Terri Ghislandi-Bunn, at the courthouse; and John Hacker and Sheila Van Holten, at Rumor Has it.
Live music will be offered at UMB, Kip Smith Realty, Koka Gallery, City Hall and Mother Road Coffee.
In addition to art and music offerings around the square, there will be more than a dozen dining options and several restaurants will provide outdoor dining and later hours, Douglas said.
