Glenn Campbell's final tour makes a stop in Miami

MIAMI, Okla. — Glen Campbell's concert next week isn't part of his "Goodbye Tour." But that doesn't mean he won't be saying goodbye.

The country music legend will perform Thursday at Buffalo Run Casino's Peoria Showplace in one of his final concerts. Campbell was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2011.

The Goodbye Tour has featured special appearances by performing artists who said they were inspired by Campbell, including Jackson Browne, Kris Kristofferson and Jenny Lewis. Campbell's concert will feature just him, his band and the product of a 50-year career in show business.

Campbell's first breakout occured in 1967, when the albums "Gentle on My Mind" and "By the Time I Get to Phoenix" both went platium and reached No. 1 on Billboard's U.S. country chart.

His songwriting was prolific, releasing at least two albums a year between '67 and '75. That stretch included other gold and platinum albums, including 1968's double-platinum "Wichita Lineman." He has recorded 52 studio albums and six live albums, and also appeared on compilations and collaborations.

His most recent album, "Ghost on the Canvas," was released in 2011, after his diagnosis.

He has won five Grammys and three Grammy Hall of Fame honors, seven Academy of Country Music awards, two Country Music Association awards and more. His singing and guitar playing have been hailed as inspirational by a long list of performers.
