Tickets on sale for Pro Musica concert

Tickets are now on sale for a concert featuring the Philharmonia of the Nations Symphony Orchestra, directed by Justus Frantz and featuring pianist Jon Nakamatsu. The concert is a presentation of Pro Musica Joplin.

The orchestra is composed of members from more than 40 countries and five continents. Franz founded the orchestra in 1995, and also performs as a pianist with major orchestras across the world.

Nakamatsu is the gold medalist of the 10th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 1997. He is the only American to have won the award since 1981.

The concert will start at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, at Taylor Performing Arts Center on the campus of Missouri Southern State University.

Prices are $20 for premium seating, $15 for general seating ($3 discount in both categories for students and seniors 62 and older), and $10 for balcony seating.

Patron Party tickets, priced at $70, will include premium seating, listing in the program and a buffet dinner in Spiva Art Gallery at MSSU from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased at Ernie Williamson Music, 925 S. Range Line Road; the MSSU Campus Card Service Center in Billinglsy Student Center; the Pro Musica office (call 625-1822 first); or credit card orders may be placed at 800-355-1814 ($1 will be added to the price of each ticket at this number).
