Rich Brown: Joplin church to feature 'Living Proof Life' simulcast Those congregating at a Joplin church Aug. 1-2 will be among an estimated 80,000 women to see, hear and be inspired by dynamic Christian author and speaker Beth Moore.
The “Living Proof Life” simulcast from Louisville, Ky., will be shown at Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church, 2423 W. 26th St., as well as to some 600 other churches across the United States. In addition to the host churches, the live broadcast will be presented through a partnership between LifeWay Women’s Events and the Church Communication Network. The Bible study, teaching and worship experience will be presented from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, and 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 2. Doors open an hour before on both days. “We are very excited to host the Beth Moore simulcast,” said Nancy Hampton, director of Connections Ministry at Saint Paul’s. “For the past year we have offered Beth Moore studies on Wednesday nights at Saint Paul’s and the studies are always fantastic. We encourage all ladies to bring their moms, their sisters and their friends to this life-changing event.” Penny Collins and Jane Ewing are coordinating the event at Saint Paul’s. “Beth Moore teaches with enthusiasm and humor,” Collins said. “Her teaching of God’s word is authentic and focuses on applying Scripture to our daily walk with Christ.” Said Ewing: “If you hear her speak once, you will want to hear her again and again. She is absolutely awesome.” Moore’s mission, according to the Web site www.lifeway.com, is “to guide women everywhere into a richer, more fulfilling relationship with the Father.” The Web site describes Moore as “a woman of purpose, preparation, prayer and passion. It’s apparent in everything she does, from teaching Sunday school at her home church, to sharing her biblical insights and observations in her Bible studies and books.” In addition to Moore’s powerful messages, there will be praise and worship led by Travis Cottrell. He is joined by a full-praise band and singers. Moore focuses on Scripture that God leads her to teach for each specific location. She is said to have a compelling style of teaching the Bible, as well as sharing her own journey in life. Her teaching strikes home with women of all ages, backgrounds, races and denominations. “Our deep and genuine desire is to see the Holy Spirit of the living God poured out on people so that the lost are found, the weary are revived and Christ is glorified through lives unleashed to bear much fruit,” Moore said. “We have one goal: People coming to love Jesus Christ with a passion through the study of his word.” The ticket price is $40 for both days.
