• Special music for the 9:30 a.m. worship service Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, 509 S. Pearl Ave., will be presented by the Praises Ringing Handbell and Sanctuary choirs. The church will hold its annual Fall Fest church picnic at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at ShoalKirk campground. The Rev. Jeff Light, former associate pastor, will be the special guest for this year’s celebration of the 25th anniversary of ShoalKirk. A new chapel facility will be dedicated. Details: 624-2433. • Registration is being accepted for Arise! Cry Out!, a worldwide day of extraordinary prayer for children and schools scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at NewCreation Church, 19th Street and Connor Avenue. The event will feature Fern Nichols, president and founder of Moms in Touch International; Miles McPherson, Miles Ahead Ministries and senior pastor of Rock Church; and the Crimson Bridge worship team. Moms in Touch International is holding the national prayer event for Christian women around the world.
