Joplin
• A 50th anniversary celebration is being held today and Sunday at Harmony Heights Baptist Church, 2025 S. Indiana Ave.
A get-reacquainted fellowship, featuring pictures and videos, is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. and a carry-in dinner will be served at 4 p.m. Former pastors Ray Hartline and Russell Adams will speak at 6 p.m., followed by a gospel sing with the Glorybound Quartet, Susan Tatum and Terri VerHoeven
Sunday’s schedule will begin with Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. Gene Jeffries, the first pastor, will deliver the message during the 10:45 a.m. service. The 5 p.m. worship service will feature special music and former pastor Roy Brock will preach.

• The Joplin Area Organists Association will present a Bach concert at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel at Ozark Christian College, 1111 N. Main St.
The concert will feature the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, whose 325th birthday is on Sunday. He was born March 21, 1685, in Eisenbach, Germany.
The group will perform a concert of pipe organ, piano, harpsichord, strings, trumpet and a vocal ensemble. Glenda Austin, of Joplin, has written and published a piano duet dedicated to the day titled “A Little Bit of Bach.”
The concert is free and open to the public.
• Ted Easley will be the guest speaker during the worship service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, 509 S. Pearl Ave.
Special music will be presented by the Praises Ringing bell choir and the Sanctuary Choir.
The Presbyterian Women will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The program will be presented by Wendy Jones and Jennifer Forsythe, of Ozark Center’s Turnaround Ranch.

• A Lenten lecture series is scheduled from 6 to 6:45 p.m. Wednesdays at First Community Church, 2007 E. 15th St.
The final subject on Wednesday will be “Showdown in the Desert (The Wilderness Temptation of Jesus)” by Craig Tally, senior minister at First Community Church.
• Revival services are scheduled at 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, March 31 to April 2, at Spring River Christian Village, 201 S. Northpark Lane.
Services will be held in the lower level chapel.
Garland Bare, medical missionary and physician, will explore medical aspects of the Cross, the Tomb and the Resurrection. Music leaders will be Daniel Bare, grandson of Garland Bare, and Colleen Bennitt.

• Pastor Joe Miller, of Pathways United Methodist Church, 207 S. Orchard St., recently received his official ordination from Evangelical Methodist Church.
The ordination ceremony was conducted on March 14 in Indianapolis, Ind.
Miller was born and raised in Lebanon and graduated from Missouri State University in 2007. He worked for nine years as a youth pastor and associate pastor while simultaneously completing his bachelor’s degree and the ordination process.

Tea time will begin at 4 p.m. The guest speaker will be Linda Pisinger. Linda and her husband, David, are pastors at Glorious Church, Zora Avenue and Range Line Road. She will be sharing music as well as ministry.
Jim and Rose Babcock, of Chaplaincy Ministries in Kansas City, will be guest speakers at the 6 p.m. service on Sunday. They have a reintegration program that helps people who have been in various types of trouble adjust back into society.

The drama “The Chosen” depicts the life of Jesus as seen through his mother Mary’s eyes. It presents the Gospel story in a new way.

Scammon, Kan.
• The St. Joseph Table meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday in the Family and Faith Center at St. Bridget’s Church, Fourth and Keith streets.
Traditionally, the Feast of St. Joseph is held on March 19 and over time has become a celebration for both the Catholic church and Italian people.
The meal will include spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, seafood pasta shells, polenta with sauce, gnocchi, breads, Italian sausage and stuffed cabbage. Each meal comes with salad, breads and dessert.
The cost for the full meal is $10 for adults, $5 for children younger than 12 and free for children 5 and younger. Baked goods on the table will be offered for sale. The public is invited to attend.
