Joplin
• South Joplin Christian Church will hold its second annual Trunk or Treat from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, on the church parking lot.
During the event, cars are parked and decorated and children go from car to car to collect treats. There also will be games.

• A Kids Fest will be staged from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at Destiny Church, 3411 N. Range Line Road.

• The Rev. Jeff Light will be the guest minister during the 9:30 a.m. worship service Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church, 509 S. Pearl Ave.
Light, a former associate pastor at the church, is now the marketing and relations director of Heartland Presbyterian Center near Kansas City. Special music will be presented by the Covenant and Sanctuary choirs.
Leslie Simpson, director of the Post Memorial Art Reference Library in Joplin, will present the program “Extreme Makeover: Joplin Edition” at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday during the Presbyterian Women Gathered meeting.

• Forest McCool, of Galena, Kan., will speak at 7 p.m. Wednesday at New Hope Assembly, 602 S. Moffet Ave.
McCool will talk about the pre-tribulation time as it will be before the coming of the Lord. Everyone is invited to attend.

Duenweg
• Evangelist and recording artist Carl Harris, of Knoxville, Tenn., will conduct revival services Sunday through Friday at Duenweg Assembly of God, 7380 E. 20th St.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday and continue at 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Rev. Harris will minister in word and song. There also will be prayer for the sick and people who need deliverance.

• “We are Called to be Men of Faith,” a conference for Catholic men, will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Holy Trinity Church, 2818 E. Bennet St.
Gus Lloyd, the host of Catholic Satellite Radio’s “Seize the Day” program, will be the keynote speaker for the event sponsored by the Office of Family Ministries of the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau.
The early registration deadline is Friday and costs $25 for adults and $20 for students ages 15-18. Registration at the door will be $35. Continental breakfast and lunch are included as part of the fee.
