• The 55+ Lunch Bunch of First United Methodist Church, 501 W. Fourth St., will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.

The Heartland Concert Band will present a program of patriotic music to honor all veterans with a special rendition of “A Salute to Veterans” during which veterans will be asked to stand when their branch of service is saluted. The Heartland Band is composed of more than 30 musicians ranging in age from high school students to senior citizens. Vicki Mays has been the director for the past eight years.

Shannon Kelly, graduate of Drury University with a degree in history, will present a program on World War I and will be attired in period clothing. Kelly also has gathered genealogical research. He began collecting memorabilia at the age of 9 years old.

All veterans are asked to bring memorabilia to be displayed and be returned after the program. A red, white and blue theme will be used throughout the luncheon.

Cost of the catered luncheon is $6. The deadline for reservations is noon Monday.

• The annual holiday craft festival, held by the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League of Immanuel Lutheran Church, will be staged from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, in Martin Luther School gymnasium, 2616 Connecticut Ave.

There will be more than 40 craft exhibitors from the Four-State Area.

Coffee, biscuits and gravy will be available in the morning. Homemade soup, chili, hot dogs and pie will be sold for lunch. There also will be a variety of baked goods for sale.

• Anderson United Methodist Church will hold its annual fall smorgasbord from 5 to 6:30 p.m. today in the church fellowship hall, 702 Patterson St.

• Evangelists James and Berneice Gale will preach at 11 a.m. Sunday at Faith and New Hope Church.

James Gale is blind. He is a talented musician, guitar player, singer and speaker, and Berneice Gale plays bass guitar and is a singer. They formerly pastored a church in Cadott, Wis., for 17 years and presently are on the evangelistic field.

• The Ozark Bible College Choir from Neosho will present a service of singing and ministering at 6 p.m. Sunday at Silver Moon Full Gospel Church.

The choir is comprised of students from all over the United States.

• Tim and Libby Thomas, of Tim and Libby Thomas Ministries of Nashville, Tenn., will be in concert at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at the First Baptist Church of Diamond, 501 W. Market St.

n A veteran’s recognition day will be held Sunday at Swars Prairie Baptist Church.
