Joplin
• “Lotzapalooza,” a benefit concert for a Haiti missions family, will be staged from 4 to 10 p.m. today at the Foundry, 3405 S. Hammons Blvd. (inside The Bridge).
Bands performing include Canaan Bound, 9th Hour, 7 Times Hotter, Uprooted, Spirit Force, Carterville Christian Praise Band and more.
There also will be food, concessions and a silent auction. The event is sponsored by the First United Methodist Church.
The benefit concert has a $3 cover charge and suggested love offering of $10. Donations also will be accepted.
Proceeds will be used to buy a generator for the Lotz family. Eric and Jennifer Lotz, formerly of Joplin where they attended First United Methodist Church, and their five children (ages 6 months to 10 years old) have been on a mission trip in Haiti the last few years.
• The Praises Ringing and Sanctuary choirs will present special music at the 9:30 a.m. worship service Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, 509 S. Pearl Ave.
The Presbyterian Women’s annual Praise Tea will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church. The program “Musical Moments” will be presented by Terry and Karen Dolanc. A “thanks offering” will be received and dedicated.

• The Moms Matter group meets the third Friday of each month at South Joplin Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, 1901 Pearl Ave.
The group is for all mothers of young children and meets from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Participants share food, fellowship, support and study. The group is studying biblical mothers and how they can learn from them. A nursery is provided.

• Dewey Baker, of Springfield, will be guest speaker at a meeting of the Greater Joplin Area chapter of Business Men’s Fellowship at 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at Ryan’s Restaurant, 510 S. Range Line Road.
Baker was a successful oil man drilling wildcat wells all over the world. He was successful in business but he wanted a divorce at that time and basically hated the world. The capture of his older brother, who was a pilot shot down over Vietnam and became a POW, led Dewey to God. God filled him with His spirit, saved his marriage, his kids and his brother.
All area men are invited to attend meeting which is preceded by the breakfast buffet. The chapter will buy the breakfast of all who attend for the first time. It is not necessary to be a member to attend and there is no charge to join the fellowship.
Ken Ehrmann, one of our national directors, also from Springfield, will conduct the annual election of officers. All current members and those who join will be eligible to vote.

A gospel concert will be presented by the Lesters Family of St. Louis and the Trombleys. A love offering will be taken.

• Karla Morgan will be guest speaker at a banquet meeting on Saturday, Nov. 21, of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International, Pittsburg Chapter No. 650.
She is a member of the senior leadership team of Citywide Christian Fellowship and formerly served with a training mission to Nairobi, Kenya, in East Africa.
The meal begins at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting is set for 7:15 p.m. at the Lamplighter Inn, 4020 Parkview Drive. The cost is $7 a person. Meal reservations are required by Friday.
