Mike Surbrugg: Simple household solution kills dandelions
Maxine Cullum, of Neosho, found a simple way to kill dandelions in her yard.
She uses a solution of one cup liquid dishwashing soap with three cups vinegar. Either white or apple cider vinegar works.
Cullum likes to squirt the solution on dandelions when they first appear. She applies the solution to thoroughly cover leaves and gives two or three extra squirts on the plant center.
She walks the yard early and faithfully. The solution does not kill grass. Larger dandelions take more squirts, she writes.
