Support meetings set at Freeman
Two support-group meetings and classes for new mothers will be offered by Freeman Health System.
* Today: Breast-feeding class, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., conference room at Freeman West, 1102 W. 32nd St. The class teaches basic techniques. Free for Freeman patients, but registration is required. Details: FHS-6667.
* Saturday: Prenatal class, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., conference room at Freeman West. The one-day class helps prepare mothers and labor coaches for childbirth. Free for Freeman patients, but registration is required. Details: FHS-6667.
* Tuesday: Alzheimer’s support group, 6 p.m., Conference Room 4E at Freeman East, 932 E. 34th St. Free and open to the public. Details: FHS-5876.

Health Talk offered at St. John’s
Health screenings and a program on cardiac issues will be presented by St. John’s Regional Medical Center.
* Friday: Cardiovascular risk assessment, 8 a.m., Health Connection at Northpark Mall. Screenings are $99 and will include carotid, abdominal aneurysm, cholesterol, bone density and ankle arm indices. Staff will be available to discuss results. Registration is required. Details: 625-2000.

Class to focus on grief recovery
WEBB CITY, Mo. — A seven-week grief recovery program will be offered by Trinity Hospice starting Tuesday.
The class will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. each week at the Mining Days Building. It is geared toward anyone grieving a divorce, a decline in health or the loss of a loved one in order to help them move beyond the pain.
The cost to attend is the $13 fee for the workbook.

AA meetings scheduled
WEBB CITY, Mo. — An Alcoholics Anonymous meeting is offered from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. each Thursday at Mount Hope Church, 2830 Mount Hope Road.
Those attending should use the third door on the left side of the church.
