Center seeks blood donations
Blood donations will be accepted by the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks.
Hours will be from 9 a.m. to noon today at Vatterott College, 809 Illinois Ave., and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Eagle-Picher Industries, 1216 W. C St., both in Joplin.
Also today, hours will be from noon to 5 p.m. at Advantage Health Care, 1009 S. Neosho Boulevard, and from 3 to 6 p.m. at the VFW Hall, Highway 39 North, Shell Knob.
On Friday, hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. at Fairview Mennonite School, 29836 Route HH.
Donations also are accepted at the Joplin Donor Center inside the main entrance to Northpark Mall, 101 N. Range Line Road. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
To be eligible to give, you must weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health.

Freeman sets support meetings
Stroke support groups and a prenatal class have been scheduled by Freeman Health System.
* Today: Stroke support group, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., College View Manor, 3828 College View Drive. Free and open to the public. Details: FHS-1234.
* Saturday: Prenatal class, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., conference room at Freeman West, 1102 W. 32nd St. The one-day class is for mothers and labor coaches. Free for Freeman patients, but registration is required. Details: FHS-6667.

Mammography stop scheduled
The Mobile Mammography Unit of St. John’s Regional Medical Center has scheduled several area stops.
* Today: Mobile Mammography, 1 to 4 p.m., Maude Norton Hospital, Columbus, Kan.
* Tuesday: Mobile Mammography, 12:30 to 3 p.m., Southwest Community Clinic.
* Wednesday: Blood-pressure screening, 7:30 to 10 a.m., Health Connection at Northpark Mall. No registration required.
Mobile Mammography, 1 to 4 p.m., Thousand Oaks Building, 1905 W. 32nd St.
AA meetings scheduled
WEBB CITY, Mo. — An Alcoholics Anonymous meeting is offered from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. each Thursday at Mount Hope Church, 2830 Mount Hope Road.
Those attending should use the third door on the left side of the church.
