Support group, class at Freeman
An autism support group and a class on infant CPR will be offered by Freeman Health System.
* Tuesday: Autism support group, 6 to 8 p.m., Conference Room 1 at Freeman Business Center, 3220 McClelland Blvd. For parents and caregivers of children with autism, Asperger’s and related disorders. Details: FHS-7600 or tdcamp@freemanhealth.com.
* Infant CPR, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Alice Wilson Conference Center, Joplin Family Y-South. The course presents information about the infant and child chain of survival, signs of choking and prevention of injuries. Free for Freeman patients, but registration is required.

Program set at St. John’s
A program on diabetic ulcers and a free blood-pressure screening have been scheduled by St. John’s Regional Medical Center.
* Friday: Lunch talk, noon, Mercy Conference Rooms. Dr. Newman will give a presentation on hyperbaric oxygen-diabetic ulcers. Registration is required.
* Wednesday: Blood-pressure screening, 7:30 to 10 a.m., Health Connection at Northpark Mall. No registration is required.

Support group plans meeting
The Four States Mended Hearts support group will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday in the gazebo at Cunningham Park.
Those attending should bring a side dish. Everything else will be furnished.

Center seeks blood donations
Blood donations will be accepted by the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks at several sites this week.
The CBCO has issued a code yellow alert for blood types A negative, O negative and O positive. There is less than a two-day supply of these blood types on hospital shelves.
Today, hours will be from noon to 4 p.m. at the Freeman-Anderson Clinic, 510 Park St., and from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Golden Living Center, 1000 E. Highway 76, both on Anderson.
On Friday, hours will be from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. at McDonald County High School Stadium, 100 Mustang Drive, Anderson, and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Beimdiek Insurance, 303 W. Third St., Carthage,
On Saturday, hours will be from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Wal-Mart Supercenter, 3020 S. Elliot St., Aurora; from 9 a.m. to noon at the Aurora Branch Library, 202 Jefferson St., and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Eagles Lodge No. 4362, 1010 Breckenridge St., Mount Vernon.
Donors are invited to Salute a Veteran at all blood drives through July 6. Each participant will receive a commemorative T-shirt and may dedicate their donation to a current or former U.S. armed forces member.
Donations also are accepted at the Joplin Donor Center inside the main entrance to Northpark Mall, 101 N. Range Line Road. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
To be eligible to give, you must weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health.
