Counties offer vaccinations The Jasper County Health Department is offering flu and pneumonia vaccinations to all residents of Jasper County outside the city limits of Joplin ages 6 months and older. The flu vaccine is $15 and the pneumonia vaccine is $35. Those with Medicare Part B or Medicaid/Mo Health Net cards should bring their cards to their appointment. All clinics at the Jasper County Health Department location will require an appointment. Clinics will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. today at the Jasper County Health Department; 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Carl Junction City Hall; 1 to 3:30 p.m. at Webb City First Baptist Church; 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at Avilla School; 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Monday at Jasper Methodist Church; 9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 9, at Alba City Hall; 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 9 at Oronogo City Hall; 9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 10, at Duquesne City Hall; 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 10 at Duenweg City Hall; 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 22, at the Gene Taylor Community Center in Sarcoxie; and 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 30, at the county health department. Details: (417) 358-3111 or (877) 879-9131. • Flu-shot clinics are also being offered in Neosho and other nearby communities through the Newton County Health Department, 812 W. Harmony St. The cost for the flu vaccination will be $20. Medicare will be accepted. Shots will not be available for children younger than 3 or to pregnant women. To arrange a flu shot for a child on Medicaid, please contact the health department. Today, clinic hours will be from 9:15 to 10 a.m. at Hammons Center in Fairview; from 11 to 11:45 at the Community Center in Wentworth; and from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Diamond City Hall. On Friday, hours will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Seneca City Hall and from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Redings Mill Fire Department. Flu shots will be available from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Newton County Health Department, while supplies last. Details: (417) 451-3743.
