St. John’s to offer health screenings

Screenings for blood pressure and cholesterol will be held by St. John’s Regional Medical Center.

Monday: Blood pressure screening, 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the hospital lobby. The screening is free.

Tuesday: Cholesterol screening, Family Care Center, 32nd and Jackson, Joplin. $5 lab draw, fasting recommended. Details, reservations: 417-625-2000.



Freeman schedules support groups, health screenings

Support groups and a screening have been scheduled by Freeman Health Systems.

Monday: Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Support Group, 6 to 7 p.m., Freeman East Chapel, Third Floor, 932 East 32nd St., Joplin. Focus on rehabilitative care that patients may need after release from a hospital. Details: 417-347-4462.

Tuesday: Alzheimer’s Support Group, 6 to 7 p.m., Freeman East Conference Room 4E, 932 East 34th St., Joplin. Details: 417-347-5876.

Wednesday: Freeman Community Health Screening, 8 a.m. to noon, QuickMeds Pharmacy, 32nd and McClelland, Joplin. Details: 417-347-4448.

McCune-Brooks offers screenings, support groups

Screenings, support groups and an awareness luncheon have been set by McCune-Brooks Hospital.

Today: Alzheimer’s support group, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Conference room. Details: 417-359-1832.

Go Red For Women, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Fairview Christian Church, 2320 S. Grand Ave., Extended Life Luncheon to raise awareness of women’s heart health. Reservation required. Details: 417-358-1350.

Tuesday: Grief support group, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Chapel. Details: 417-359-2636.
