DIAMOND: Carver Day Celebration, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Carver National Monument. Events include speakers, storyteller, live music and activities for kids. Details: 417-325-4151.

JOPLIN: Single moms group, 6 p.m. today, Royal Heights United Methodist Church, 1612 Euclid Ave. Dinner at 6 p.m., fellowship 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Children welcome, food and games provided. Details: 624-3366.

JOPLIN: Pet adoption day, 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Petsmart, 520 Range Line. Organized by Faithful Friends Animal Advocates. Details: 417-592-2512.

Christian bands, groups and soloists will perform, including Country Rhythm and Blues Band, Fishers of Men, One Name, No Apparent Reason and others. Baked goods and hot dogs will be sold.
