Prep roundup: Doubles team powers Eagles

Joplin’s doubles team of Luke Frogge and Edran Ali led the Eagles to a 6-3 victory Wednesday against Glendale in an Ozark Conference dual at Cooper Complex.

Frogge and Ali defeated Glendale’s No. 1 doubles team of Micah Klousia and Luke Hanson 8-6.

“That was a huge win against a very strong conference opponent,” said Joplin coach Sean McWilliams. “Frogge and Ali played a very good Klousia and Hanson team, and that was a difference maker in the match. That was a great win for us.”

Joplin’s Jeremy Lynn, Frogge, Ali and Duncan Ford won their singles matches.

“We’re proud of our No. 6 player (Ford), who was down 5-2,” Williams said.
