Republic earns top seed for Carthage volleyball district

Republic is the No. 1 seed in the Class 4, District 12 volleyball tournament next week at Carthage.

In first-round matches, No. 4 Joplin will play No. 5 Webb City at 5 p.m. Monday, followed by No. 2 Nixa against No. 7 McDonald County at 6:30 p.m. and No. 3 Carthage against No. 6 Neosho at 8 p.m.

Semifinals are scheduled for 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, followed by the championship match at 8 p.m.

Carl Junction is the No. 2 seed in the Class 3, District 12 tournament at Clinton.

Carl Junction will face the winner of No. 3 Nevada and Harrisonville in the semifinals at 7 p.m. Monday. Top-seeded Pleasant Hill will face the winner of Mount Vernon and Clinton in the other semifinal at 8 p.m.

The championship match is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday.

In Class 3, District 11, top-seeded Reeds Spring will face the winner of Aurora and Seneca at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Aurora.

 First-round matches begin at 5 p.m. Monday. Semifinals are scheduled for 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, followed by the championship match at 8 p.m.

Other teams in the tournament are East Newton, Monett, Cassville and Hollister.
