REEDS SPRING, Mo. —
Aaron Hall and Kurran Blamey combined for 300 yards and three touchdowns rushing as Monett downed Reeds Spring 35-6 Wednesday night in a Class 3 District 4 semifinal game.
The third-seeded Cubs (8-3) advance to Monday night’s district championship game at top-seeded Cassville, which beat Seneca 48-13 in its semifinal encounter. Cassville (11-0) defeated Monett 30-20 in the sixth week of the regular season.
The Cubs outgained Reeds Spring 394-208, including 313 yards on the ground. But Monett went to the air to break a scoreless tie in the final minute of the first half. Kyle Woods and Kurran Blamey connected for a 59-yard scoring strike to make it 6-0 at the intermission.
Blamey added touchdown runs of 11 and 24 yards in the last three minutes of the third period to expand the margin to 20-0 after three periods.
Easton Flaugh’s one-yard run put Reeds Spring (7-4) on the scoreboard just over a minute into the fourth quarter to make it 20-6.
The Cubs answered with a six-yard touchdown pass from Woods to Grant Oganesyan with 7:21 left, and Hall raced 60 yards for a final TD two minutes later.
Hall finished with 179 yards on 24 carries, and Blamey gained 121 yards on 15 attempts.
Miller 35, Marionville 6
MILLER, Mo. — Quarterback Dalton Gulick accounted for three long touchdown plays as undefeated Miller beat Marionville in its Class 1 District 2 semifinal contest.
The top-seeded Cardinals (11-0) face third-seeded Lockwood, a 39-21 winner over Jasper, at 7 p.m. Monday for the district crown.
Gulick hit Chance Taylor with a 48-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter to give the Cardinals a 13-0 lead at the intermission. Gulick then broke touchdown runs of 42 yards in the third quarter and 51 yards in the fourth.
Derrick Estell also scored twice for Miller on a five-yard run in the second quarter and two-yard run in the third period.
Marionville (3-8) scored on Ryan White’s six-yard pass to Nate Hill in the third quarter.
