Several area players were named to the Kansas Association of Baseball Coaches all-state team, which was released Tuesday.
The Frontenac Raiders, who finished the season 20-1, had two players make the Class 4A list. Matt Standlee was named to the second team as a pitcher, and Blake Vail was a second-team outfielder.
St. Mary’s-Colgan, winners of the Class 3A state championship, had three players make the 3A team. Christian Cedeno was a first-team pitcher and 3A pitcher of the year. V.J. Piccini was named a second-team pitcher, and Nate Grimaldi earned a spot as a first-team outfielder.
Riverton, which lost in the 3A regional final to Colgan, had three players make all-state. Catcher Dylan Weaver earned first-team honors, while third baseman Hunter Deckard and utility player Greyson Spriggs received second-team honors.
Grimaldi and Weaver also were named to the 2013 KABC All-Star Game, which will be played June 5 in Manhattan.
