NEOSHO, Mo. —
Thomas Jefferson went in front 2-1 in doubles play and held off Neosho 5-4 in boys tennis action on Monday.
The Cavaliers led entering singles play, but the Wildcats hung around long enough to make it interesting. The key match of the night went to No. 1 singles where Thomas Jefferson’s Alex Oserowsky edged Neosho’s Mike Kramer, 9-7, to make all of the difference.
Jake Hockman and John Burnett picked up singles victories for the Cavaliers. Doubles winners were teams of Oserowsky-Hockman and Frankie Cascone-Preston Carpenter.
The Wildcats had singles victories from Jeremiah Jennings, Tyler Slaughter and Tucker Bailey. The doubles team of Grant Mahr-Tucker Bailey also picked up a win.
Webb City 9, Republic 0
REPUBLIC, Mo. — The Webb City boys tennis team went on the road and blanked Republic in a COC Large Division match.
The Cardinals (7-4, 4-2 conference) cruised behind singles victories from Adam Miller, Matt Reynolds, Aron Wells, Tucker Palone, Logan Sperry and Bruce Taft.
Doubles winners for the Cardinals were: Miller-Reynolds, Wells-Palone and Sperry-Taft.
The Cardinals will take part in the COC Tournament meet which begins at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Millennium Tennis & Fitness Club.
