Prep Roundup: Willard beats Joplin girls

WILLARD, Mo. — Willard pulled away with a 25-point second quarter and went on to defeat Joplin 74-45 in a girls nonconference game Thursday night.

Amber Percival led Willard with 20 points and teammate Ali Perry scored 12.

Jacqueline Lieurance led Joplin with 18 points and Kelsey Johnson added 10.

Liberal girls 45, College Heights 28

LIBERAL, Mo. — Rachel Dugan, a 5-9 junior, scored 21 points as the Bulldogs hiked their record to 3-0 in the Spring River Valley Conference.

Dugan tallied 12 as Liberal outscored the Cougars 19-0 in the second quarter to lead 27-5 at the half.

The points were a season high for Dugan. Kennedy Kirby, a 5-10 sophomore, grabbed nine rebounds.

CHC received 15 points from Kirsty Green and 10 from Bri Shores. Green tossed in three treys.

Webb City boys 53, McDonald County 32

ANDERSON, Mo. — Kohl Slaughter tallied 12 points and John Roderique 11 as the Cardinals improved to 8-3 with the nonconference win.

Webb City was ahead 30-12 by halftime.

McDonald County (3-8) received eight points apiece from Tyler Sherwood, who had two 3s, and Drey Fickle.

Liberal boys 56, College Heights 26

LIBERAL, Mo. — Colin McNaught scored 16 points and led Liberal past College Heights in a boys Spring River Valley Conference game.

Garrett Miller added 12 points for Liberal, which led 28-13 at halftime.

Jake Hamilton led College Heights with nine points.
