ST. PETERS, Mo. —
Nevada junior Grace Reichard earned a fifth-place medal in the 100-yard breast stroke at state swimming championships on Saturday at St. Peters, Mo.
Reichard finished in 1:07.86 after earning the eighth-best preliminary time of 1:08.61 on Friday. Blue Springs junior Corinne Rinne won the event with a time of 1:05.25.
The Nevada junior also won her consolation heat in the 200-yard freestyle to place ninth overall in the event. Reichard finished in 1:55.82, improving Friday’s preliminary time by more than a second.
By finishing with the ninth-best preliminary time on Friday, Reichard advanced to Saturday’s consolation heat but couldn’t finish in the top eight. Her time in the 200 freestyle would have been sixth best among the championship heat.
