Carthage's Bridges among area players on all-state baseball squad

— Carthage’s Drew Bridges, Seneca’s Colton Webber and Payton Rawlins and Purdy’s Cameron Terry earned all-state baseball honors, which were released Tuesday by the Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association.

Bridges, who recently signed with the New York Yankees organization after being selected in the 20th round of the MLB draft, was named to the Class 5 first team as a designated hitter/utility player.

As a senior, Bridges hit .522 with 11 doubles, five triples, eight home runs, 33 runs scored and 35 RBI. He also pitched, boasting a 6-1 record with 80 strikeouts.

Carthage finished the season with a 21-2 record and was co-champion with Willard in the Central Ozark Conference Large Division.

Webber, a senior, was named to the Class 4 first team as a designated hitter/utility player. He hit .389 with six doubles, two triples, two home runs, 34 runs and 25 RBI. On the mound, Webber was 8-1 with a 3.52 ERA.

Rawlins, a junior, earned Class 4 second-team recognition as a designated hitter/utility player. He hit .423 with nine doubles, three triples, three homers, 28 runs and 34 RBI. Rawlins also was 6-2 with a 2.71 ERA.

Seneca finished the season 20-5 and captured Big 8 and District 11 championships.

Terry, a senior, was named to the Class 2 second team as a pitcher.
