CARL JUNCTION, Mo. —
Tailback Braxton Graham accounted for 289 yards and three touchdowns, and quarterback Payton Rawlins passed for 286 yards and three scores as Seneca rolled past Carl Junction 54-14 Friday night at Bulldog Stadium.
The Indians (4-3, 3-2 Big 8 Conference) outscored Carl Junction 19-0 in the third period to expand a 28-14 halftime lead to 47-14. Seneca totaled 474 yards on offense compared to the Bulldogs’ 283 yards.
Seneca’s defense recorded a three-and-out on the game’s first series, and Graham returned the ensuing punt 62 yards for a touchdown.
Graham later gained 93 yards on 12 rushes and 134 yards on four receptions. He scored on a 59-yard late in the third quarter and a 70-yard reception in the third period.
Running back Marty Mailes had 12 carries for 69 yards, including touchdown runs of 17, 5 and 16 yards.
Rawlins completed 15-of-22 passes for his 286 yards. His other TD passes went to Kyler Ng for 2 yards and Dalan Merriman for 9 yards.
Carl Junction’s two touchdowns came in the second quarter on Dustin Satterlee passes to Matt Magee for 6 and 33 yards.
Satterlee hit 9-of-23 passes for 120 yards, including four to Magee for 59 yards and three to Kris Bird for 36 yards.
Nick Thompson paced the Bulldogs’ ground game with 78 yards on 17 carries. Chris Whelan and Lucas Hertzberg gained 39 and 32 yards, respectively.
Conference games next Friday match Mount Vernon at Carl Junction and Seneca at Monett.
