Cougars top Greenfield
GREENFIELD, Mo. — College Heights survived an early onslaught by Greenfield and clinched a share of the Spring River Valley Conference title Monday night by defeating the Wildcats, 25-19, 25-18.
Greenfield scored the first five points of the first game and led 9-3 before two blocks and a kill by Sarah Vainio started a rally by College Heights, said head coach Mary Colin.
The Cougars, 17-8-4 overall and 8-1 in the conference, eventually tied the score at 13. “Alex Bruey served three points to help close the gap,” Colin said.
Hannah Fuller and Jade Thompson each had seven kills for College Heights. Paige Hargis led Greenfield with nine kills.
