Globe/T. Rob Brown Yvonne Cope, co-owner of Cope Auction Service, prepares auction items Thursday afternoon ahead of the city of Joplin’s annual sale of surplus and other goods. The sale will be staged beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Public Works Center, 1301 W. Second St. Entry to the auction site will be on A Street at Porter Avenue.
