DUQUESNE, Mo. —
A Webb City man and a woman have been arrested in the beating death of a Carthage man Thursday night at an address east of Duquesne.
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release that Travis Weaver, 43, of Carthage, is believed to have been struck multiple times in the head and face with a large piece of wood following a verbal altercation with a 30-year-old man from Webb City about 9:30 p.m. Thursday at 5146 E. 20th St.
Weaver died a short time later from his injuries, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
The male suspect and a 24-year-old woman were taken into custody about noon today and charges are pending, the Sheriff’s Department said.
