JOPLIN, Mo. —
Two men were taken into custody and a woman is being sought in connection with a stabbing and robbery early today at the Plaza Motel in Joplin.
Police officers were called to the motel at 2612 E. Seventh St. about 1:15 a.m. and found a 54-year-old man there with multiple stab wounds, including on his face and neck. He told police that two men and a woman had just robbed him. He was taken to a hospital with what police described as injuries that were not life-threatening.
Kyle Bruin, 23, and Wayne Tidd, 22, both of Joplin, were located by investigators a short time later in an apartment at 901 S. Roosevelt Ave. and were taken into custody. The Jasper County prosecutor’s has filed charges of first-degree robbery and armed criminal action against both men.
Police said they were still looking this noon for a 23-year-old woman suspected of having involved in the robbery and assault with Bruin and Tidd. Charges have yet to be filed against her.
The victim’s name has not yet been released by police.
