Dozens of students from across the region took top honors Friday in the National History Day competition at Missouri Southern State University.

“Innovation in History: Impact and Change” was this year’s theme.

Winners from the regional contest advanced to the Missouri State History Day competition April 10. Winners at the state competition could go on to the National History Day contest in June at College Park, Md.

Students competed in two divisions. In the junior division, which includes grades 6-8, the winners by category:
