Stone’s Throw offers mystery New Year’s Eve event

CARTHAGE, Mo. — Stone’s Throw will continue a mysterious tradition Monday with a New Year’s Eve murder mystery. “My Big Fat Greek Murder” tells the story of Sophie Poopadopoulos and her long-awaited marriage. When her groom turns up dead during the rehearsal dinner. Uncle Zorba tries to solve the mystery while Aunt Moolah starts her matchmaking all over again -- don’t want to waste all that souvlaki, after all.

The play is directed by Nita Hardy.

The play is not the typical dinner theater presentation at Stone’s Throw -- tickets include hors d’oeuvres, party favors and a sparkling toast at midnight.

Tickets: $25. Call for reservations, space is limited.

Details: 417-358-9665.
