LiveWire returns for homecoming show at Downstream Casino

JOPLIN, Mo. — A country band working in Nashville will take a break for a homecoming concert Saturday.

LiveWire, now based in Nashville, will be the featured performers of Downstream Casino's Dirt Road Live concert series. The band will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday on the casino's Legends Stage.

The band broke out in 2011 with an EP that included its first radio single, "Tater Fed."

Shortly after that, the band signed with Way Out Records and released a video for the song.

The band's full-length debut album, "Livin'," includes the singles "Lies" and "Whiskey Saturday."

The band is no Nashville newbie, either. In 2009, the band was a finalist in the Colgate Country Showdown, where members played on the stage of the historic Ryman Auditorium for a nationally televised audience.

Beer and Chicken Band will perform at 7 p.m.

Details: 918-919-6000.
