JOPLIN: Boy Scouts fundraiser, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Food 4 Less, 2800 E. 32nd St. Barbecue beef ribs will be available for $10 a slab until 6 p.m. or sold out. Funds will help Troop 77 purchase a new equipment trailer.

JOPLIN: Year of the Turtle, 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Wildcat Glades Conservation and Audubon Center. Daniel Todd will show native turtles and lead a hike. Cost: $10, $5 for members. Details: 417-782-6287.
