Globe/Roger Nomer Ima Narred, manager for the Salvation Army Thrift Store, sorts through donated clothing Wednesday afternoon at the shop on East Seventh Street in Joplin. A new program will use the phone number 2-1-1 to connect callers with trained operators who will assess needs and refer them to one or more of Missouri’s 30,000 nonprofit groups for help.
