Both drivers were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday on County Road 110, three miles east of Carthage in Jasper County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Gregory A. Overstreet, 16, of Carthage, was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Joplin, the state patrol said.
Charles D. Neumeyer, 61, of Reeds, was taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the patrol said.
Overstreet was driving a southbound car and pulled into the path of Neumeyer’s westbound car, the patrol said. The resulting collision caused Overstreet’s car to run off the road and strike a utility pole, the patrol said. Neumeyer’s car overturned in the roadway.
