Lawrence County ballots filled with aspirants for city, school positions
Mount Vernon
Three people are candidates for two seats with three-year terms on the Mount Vernon R-5 Board of Education. The candidates are John Rutledge, Paul T. Morris and Katherine Teel.
Two people are seeking the post of 1st Ward alderman. They are James Greene, the incumbent, and Chet W. Hunter.
Three people are seeking the post of 2nd Ward alderman. They are Gary W. Albers, Linda Day and David Van Pelt, the incumbent.
Three people are seeking the seat of 4th Ward alderman. They are John Hull, James W. Schmitt and Charles R. McConnell.
Pierce City
Five people are vying for two seats with three-year terms on the Pierce City R-6 Board of Education. They are Kevin Hatfield, Mike Zebert, Hollis Webb, and incumbents Kenny O’Hara and Fred Slagle.
Voters in the Pierce Benefit Special Road District will be asked whether they want to retain a 19-cent levy for road purposes for four years.
Other road districts
Voters in the Green Benefit Special Road District will choose from among four candidates to fill one seat on the district’s board. The candidates are Rodney Riley, Robert N. Calvin, Shawn Duncan and Cloyce D. Hendrix. District voters also will be asked whether they want to retain a 22-cent levy for road purposes for four years.
