— GALENA, Kan. — The only contested race on the ballot in Galena is that of mayor. Councilman David Sizemore is challenging incumbent Mayor Dale Oglesby. Poll workers at Galena City Hall said 120 voters had cast ballots in the town’s four wards by 10:45 a.m.
Retiree Clifford Wilder, 70, said he voted for Oglesby.
“He’s done as good job as anybody over the years,” Wilder said. His wife, Phyllis Wilder, said she also voted for Oglesby for the same reason.
Ashley Hopkins, 20, a home health aid, said she voted for Sizemore.
“I think we really need some change,” Hopkins said. “We need someone who isn’t trying to monopolize the town.”
