An Afton, Okla., man died of injuries he suffered in a single-vehicle accident at 7:25 p.m. Tuesday on a county road less than a mile south of Afton in Ottawa County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
William W. Woodall, 49, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, where he was pinned beneath his pickup truck for 15 minutes, the patrol said.
Woodall was southbound when the truck left the road, struck a fence and rolled two and a half times before coming to rest on its top, the patrol said.
n A Carthage man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday on Cedar Road, two miles south of Carthage in Jasper County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Luis A. Rodriguez, 38, was taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the patrol said.
Rodriguez was driving an eastbound car that ran off the road and overturned, the patrol said.
n A 54-year-old woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 4:17 p.m. Tuesday on a county road about six miles north of Leach in Delaware County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.
Peggy L. Kirk, of Salina, Okla., was flown by medical helicopter to St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa, Okla., the patrol said.
Kirk was driving a southbound vehicle that ran off the road, struck a culvert, became airborne and overturned, landing on its top, the patrol said.
